Frequently Asked Questions
Let's talk about Options!
Where does the cake for your cakes and cupcakes come from?
My cakes and cupcakes are made in the cake studio from the finest ingredients.
What cake flavors do you offer?
My basic flavors are vanilla bean, chocolate, and white almond. My basic filling flavors are Bavarian vanilla, Bavarian chocolate, and red raspberry. Other requests are considered premium flavors and will have an additional charge.
What types of icing do you have?
For cakes, you have the choice of American buttercream or Swiss Meringue buttercream. All buttercream is made with 100% real butter. No shortening is added, unless it is requested.
However, I can only use American buttercream to create the floral arrangements for cupcake bouquets.
Do you offer options for special dietary needs?
I offer gluten free and vegan options at an additional charge.
How well do the cakes and cupcake bouquets keep over time?
The cakes and cupcakes are good at room temperature for a few days. After that, it’s best to put them in the freezer.
Let's talk about Design!
Can you match my colors?
I am an experienced artist, and all of my colors are custom mixed. This makes every design truly one of a kind, as I do not keep a color card for reference. If you have a specific color in mind, please send me a photo, as everyone sees color differently, and I want to truly see what color you have in mind.
Where can I see samples of your work?
Check out my gallery to see my cupcake bouquets and cakes. You can visit my Facebook page to see my bouquets and cakes in action.
What if I don’t see an example of the flowers or design I want?
If you don’t find what you are looking for, I am happy to create a custom design that is uniquely yours! All work is designed and created by ME—I put the Molly in Molly’s Sociable Sweets, and I am an artist with 30+ years of experience.
Is there anything you don't do with cake design?
I do not write on cakes, so I cannot honor any requests to write on the cakes. This is a truly elegant and artistic floral design, and any writing would detract from that aesthetic.
Let's talk about Consultation & Tasting!
Do I need to schedule a tasting/consultation?
I always recommend scheduling a consultation and/or a tasting if you are planning for a special event. I want you to be fully aware of your choices and to have a clear vision of what you can expect for your special event.
How do I schedule a tasting with you?
Please complete my contact form and I will reach out to you within 24 hours to personally schedule your tasting.
Please note that you will need to allow 1 week for me to prepare your customized tasting with your preferences. You can access my contact form from my home page, or you can click here if you are ready now!
What can I expect at my consultation/tasting?
I will reserve a 45-minute appointment for you and a guest for your tasting. We will cover all aspects of your event, including design, venue, timing, setup, and quantities. Please bring any pictures or color swatches you have related to your event. The more details I have, the better I can achieve your vision.
Please plan to arrive on time, as I often schedule tasting appointments close together. I will be happy to reschedule your tasting for those who are more than 15 minutes late.
Your cupcake tasting kit will come packaged for you to take home to allow for privacy as you make your choices, as well as the option of sharing with others.
How much do you charge for a tasting/consultation?
Due to the time and cost involved in preparing for your tasting, the fee is $60 due at the time of scheduling and it’s nonrefundable and nontransferable.
You will receive a contract at the end of your tasting customized with your selections. I normally charge a 50% deposit to start, and I will let you know exactly what that will be based on your choices when I give you the contract. Please note that I cannot reserve your date until I receive both the signed contract and your deposit.
Please also keep in mind that my schedule fills quickly, so return the contract and deposit to me as soon as possible to ensure your event date is reserved.
Let's talk about Pricing!
How much do your cupcake bouquets and cakes cost?
Because each piece of edible artwork is my passion and it brings me joy to serve others, I will always keep my costs as low as possible. However, please understand that due to the time involved to create each design and the rising cost of ingredients, my prices are firm and subject to increase as my costs increase. Click the pricing flyer below to view or print it.
When and how will I pay for my order?
When you place your order, I do require a 50% deposit due to the cost of ingredients and the time involved to create your custom designed product. The remainder is due when you receive your order.
I will accept cash, check, or card, and you can pay me either in person at my studio, located at 1601 E. Main Street, Plainfield, IN 46168, or by using my secure online payment processing on my website at sociablesweets.com/pay.
Let's talk about Logistics!
Do you offer both pickup and delivery?
Yes! You can either pick it up at the studio, or we can deliver for an additional charge. My delivery fee is $25 within Hendricks County.
For special events and locations outside of Hendricks County there is a $75 delivery fee.
How far in advance do I need to order?
For weddings and special events, I would suggest that you book as soon as possible, as my schedule fills quickly, and I currently have bookings as far as a year out.
For my standard cupcake bouquets and standard cakes, I usually need about 4-5 days to a week of advance notice.
How do I order?
You can reach out to me through the contact form on my website. I will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your order details with you! Click here to access my contact form.
